I’ve always enjoyed beer, grew up around people who brew it, and even worked summers delivering it for years. So, when the opportunity to brew our own beer came about I was the first to volunteer my services. With a group of friends we spent the morning one cold Saturday in January learning about and brewing our own beer. 

Our host regaled us with stories and information about all things from beer to life as we brewed and sampled beer for hours. So, in honor of the fun we had and the uniqueness of his name we developed inspiration for our beer label design. 

I designed a stylized look to his photo and paid homage to the “run the gauntlet” adage of trials and danger by adapting a chaotic punk rock look to the design. Warning labels around the house proved to be the perfect splash of distressed texture to fill out the look of the background and give the design a little life.
